She was laying on her bed watching the movie "Fear" and I fell "asleep" but I was still "awake", I could see my friend laying down and I could hear the movie. I knew the movie so I knew what part was on and what was next. I could see my phone on my red sweater beside me and then my blanket started making a vibrating sound and then it covered me and I couldn't move. It seemed alive and started hitting my ribs and I felt the pain.
Thorns scraped my legs and arms, branches reached out to grab me, roots lifted from their places to trip me, but I never let down. My heart pounded against my chest, threating to jump out of its place, my breathing ragged and uncontrollable. In the New World, everything was alive. It took a skilled traveller to even know where to start their journey from one Ward to another, let alone make the journey alive.
Unfortunately for me I was neither a skilled traveller nor a native to this earth, they are called the Spack, and I was from the Ward. A thick branch flung down and smacked me in the face, the pain throbbed and spiked through my body as I felt a thick wetness oozing from my nose I picked myself up and ran.
Wards on New World were like cities on Old World, some Wards were huge filled with all sorts of people with all sorts of different food to eat, clothes to buy, things to drink. Other Wards were quite small filled with dirty, hungry, angry people.
Up ahead I could see the trees thinning out, and the sun making its way down to the ground. My heart picked up, my hope rising higher the more I looked at the clearing.
When an un-bearing ringing went through the forest, instantly the trees stopped swinging and grabbing at me, the shrubs folded back and the roots sunk below ground level.
New World was supposed to be the opposite of Old World, a place for everyone to live in peace, to live without fear, to live free. New World was meant to be better. I was a few steps away from the clearing, away from certain death when soldiers surrounded me and closed in.
I awoke to a dull throbbing in my head, for a few seconds I lay their until I realised the dirty, hungry people.
